Abstract

Brush-holders.-The pressure of the brush on a commutator or the like is maintained constant independently of the length of the brush by applying the pressure to a lever e, one end of which bears on the brush a while the other end is connected to one or more links pivoted on the fixed frame b. The brush a is longitudinally guided in the frame by means of webs or strips c which leave clearance spaces for the free passage of dust &c. The pivot pins i are preferably secured in the frame b by means of a wire k, the intermediate portion of which serves as a stop for the lever e in its raised position. The end of the lever e which bears on the brush a carries a pressure plate f insulatingly mounted thereon.
