Abstract

240,271. Bennison, J. H., and Pape, F. Aug. 9, 1924. Tools. - A device for obtaining the required curvature on the brushes used on commutators and slip rings of electrical machinery comprises a base C carrying a member B with a convex outer surface, over which a strip A of steel or other spring material is bent to the required curvature by nuts F on screwed members E secured to the base. A strip of emery cloth &c. is held upon the strip A by transverse members which are pressed down on to the cloth by the nuts. The brush is rubbed upon the convex abrasive surface until it receives the required curvature. According to the Provisional Specification, abrading-powder may be secured to the strip A by an adhesive.
