Abstract

[Class 38 (i).] In a metal terminal comprising a base c with a cylindrical wall f through slots in which the wire is inserted and a set-screw or nut b for clamping the wire between the base and a washer w having projections engaging the slots in the wall, the washer is held in the screw or nut by turning the edge of the latter over the projections. The upper edge of the wall may be formed with a flange and the edge of the screw or nut may be turned over this so that the screw or nut cannot be separated from the base. Alternatively the nut may be held captive by removing a portion of the thread and providing an enlargement or other stop at the upper end of the stem, or a set-screw may be passed down through the nut into the base, the set-screw head forming a stop for the nut.
