[Class 51 (i).] A furnace firebar is provided, as shown in Fig. 4, with downwardly converging sides a, b with projections f forming distance pieces and with tapering holes d in the top c. Air passages e may be provided in the ends of the bar as shown in Fig. 1. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, wedge-shaped partitions g may be provided between the holes d.
