[Classes 79 (iii) and 79 (iv).] In a motor mounting for vehicles, and more particularly those which have a central frame member and in which the motor is combined in one block with the change-speed gear and in some cases with the transmission and differential gear, the motor block is supported so as to swivel on the end of the frame under the control of springs or other resilient devices. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the motor 1, clutch 2, change-speed gear 3, and the transmission and differential gear 4 are combined in a casing 5 having a cylindrical projection 6 adapted to swivel on the end 7 of the central tubular frame member under the control of springs 10, 11 interposed between an abutment 12 on the frame and side covers 13, 14 on the casing, in which articulated axles 15, 16 are supported. In a modification, the casing 5, 6 and the bearing member (which may be of plummer block type) on the end 7 of the frame are inclined upwardly towards the rear, the centre of gravity of the motor block lying in the swivelling axis. The bearing member may consist of a lower part integral with the frame 7 and an upper part in the form of a removable cover, the projection 6 swivelling inside the bearing and having a radial flange engaging between two opposed springs in the cover. In other forms the swivelling movement is controlled by a coiled torsion spring, a rubber sleeve, or by rubber blocks arranged between radial ribs. In some cases limited lateral oscillations of the engine mounting, in addition to the swivelling movements, are provided for by means of spherical bearing surfaces &c.
