Abstract
<PICT:0394504/III/1> <PICT:0394504/III/2> <PICT:0394504/III/3> Apparatus for producing ozone consists of a cylindrical dielectric tube l, for example of micanite, having gauze electrodes i, k arranged on its inner and outer surfaces, mounted in a casing b above a transformer a having a secondary winding in which the inner end is connected to the outer electrode i and the outer end to the inner electrode k. Air vents c and d are provided to ensure circulation over the electrodes, and the air is warmed by the transformer. Alternatively the air may be allowed to pass only over the electrodes. One or both of the electrodes may be separated from the dielectric tube by strips or helices 3 of insulating material as shown in Fig. 6. The tube l may be inclined to the horizontal and for this purpose its base q may be supported by a shaft 1, see Fig. 5, journalled in the casing and held in position by an external nut 2.
