Abstract
392,699. Centrifugal gas-separators. POTTHOFF, O., 12, Spichernstrasse, and MICHELS, C., 24, Neustrasse, both in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. March 7, 1932, No. 6864. [Class 23.] A rotary apparatus for separating gases has a hollow central shaft 1 carrying a number of corrugated sheets 2 arranged as radial vanes within the drum 3 with an inclined wall. The outer casing conforms to the shape of the drum and the vanes. The gaseous mixture is supplied to the hollow shaft and passes through perforations in it to the spaces between the vanes 2. The heavier component is thrown to the periphery and passes to the outlet 6 while the lighter component passes to the outlet 7.
