Abstract

392,680. Folding-seats. LAWSON, R. D., 16, St. John's Road, Houghton Estate, and BAUMANN, C., 37, Page Street, Yeoville, both in Johannesburg, South Africa. Feb. 15, 1932, No. 4478. [Class 52 (ii).] A folding-seat comprises main supports 20 connected by cross-bars 23, 24, a strut 21 having a cross-bar 25 and a combined back and seat 14, 13 formed of fabric slung between the bars 23, 24 and held taut by a fabric flap 15 attached to the bar 25. The parts 14, 13, 15 are preferable formed from one length of fabric, and if an adjustable clip is provided at 17, the angle of the back may be adjusted. The flap 15 may serve as a shelf or the space 31 as a receptacle for small articles. The strut 21 and the fabric 14 may be extended, as shown in Fig. 3, to form a canopy.
