Abstract

635,466. Spring seats. STONE & SON, Ltd., H., and WHITEHILL, R. H. April 22, 1948, No. 11131. [Class 52 (iv)] A seat spring assembly comprises metal or other strips which are connected together and adapted for connection to both the rear and front of the seat and to the top of the back. As shown, a main strip a extends from the front of the seat at d to the top e of the back and an auxiliary strip h is connected to it at k and is connected, by the aid of a further strip to which it is secured at m, to the rear of the seat at i. In modifications the main strip may extend from the front to the rear of the seat and the auxiliary strip may be connected to it at about the point k and to the top of the back. Reinforcing springs f, g, j may be provided where the strips are connected to the frame. The main and auxiliary strips may each consist of two or more interconnected strips. The seat assembly comprises a series of such arrangements disposed in parallel relationship.
