Abstract

391,055. Endless-belt conveyers. HEPBURN, W., Rosa Works, Wakefield, Yorkshire. Nov. 9, 1932, No. 31614. [Class 78 (i).] Each member of a set of belt-supporting rollers comprises a cylindrical shell 1 and a pair of dished end members 2 formed from sheet-metal stampings which are clamped together by nuts 7 threaded on the spindle 4. The end members are supported on the spindle through the medium of ball bearings 5 carried in a race 6 and in recesses 9 in extensions 8 of the nuts 7. Each roller is carried in a separate bracket 10 in order that it may be removed without disturbing the others. In a modification roller bearings are dispensed with and the nuts are threaded on a sleeve on the spindle and bear directly on the end members. The end members are supported internally by distance members.
