Abstract

390,848. Ironing-machines. FLORI, L., 162, Rue du GÚnÚral GalliÚni, Boulognesur-Seine, France. Oct. 5, 1931, No. 27625. [Class 138 (ii).] In a drying and ironing machine wherein the periphery of a roller 1 is substantially enveloped by a lap of an endless apron 10 which is driven at a speed slower than that of the roller, the roller comprises alternately arranged heated and perforated portions 2, 3 respectively. The portions 2 may be heated by steam, the supply and discharge pipes therefor passing axially through one of the hollow trunnions by which the roller is mounted. The interior of the roller is fitted with a perforated pipe passing through the other trunnion and connected to a source of suction. The tension of the apron is adjusted by a roller 21 on a lever 22 held in an arcuate guide 23 near the discharge table 25. Yieldingly mounted pressure or polishing rollers 24 are provided near the feed end 20. A smaller apron or series of tapes 15 provided with stretcher bars 17 is provided over the portion of the roller not covered by the apron 10.
