Abstract
A velvet or velveteen weft pile curtain fabric is treated during the usual liming operation with a size or stiffening material such as olive oil soap and a gum obtained from the germ of a lotus bean and is then passed over steam heated cylinders to produce oxidation. This treatment causes the weft to stick to the warp to prevent movement during the operation of cutting. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 8571/84, 11632/84, 14237/91, 13873/92, [all in Class 142, Weaving &c.], and other documents.
