389,796. Screw propellers. BIRKIGT, M., Rue du Capitaine Guynemer, Bois-Colombes, Seine, France. June 16, 1931, No. 17507. Convention date, May 5. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Classes 4 and 114.] A variable-pitch screw propeller is mounted on a hollow shaft geared to the driving shaft and the blade controlling means is mounted therein. The hollow shaft c is geared to a pinion a on the engine shaft and carries an end flange d which supports the two halves f of the propeller boss. In the boss are mounted blades g having eccentric pins i at their roots fitting into blocks engaging the jaws of a fork lever k extending through the hollow drive shaft. The inner end of the sleeve k is coupled to the screwed member o which slides on keys p when a screw on the end of a rod is turned by the controlling handle q.
