Abstract
389,714. Mattress covers. SYKES, A., Talbot Works, Foundry Street, Halifax, Yorkshire. July 21, 1932, No. 20569. [Class 52 (iv).] A protective cover for a spring mattress is arranged to enclose both the mattress and the bedstead frame on which it rests. The cover comprises a part A fitting the upper surface of the mattress frame C, and a part B sewn to the part A along one edge a of the frame. The part B is then folded under the bedstead frame and its edges are brought up again to cover the sides and end of the frame and are tucked under the part A. The cover is held in place by tapes b and loops a<1> secured to the parts A, B respectively. At the corners adjacent to the sewn edge a, flaps E are secured to the underside of the upper part A, which serve to cover gaps which would otherwise appear when the cover is applied to a mattress in which the frame members C are shallow. Auxiliary tying loops a2 are also provided for use with shallowframed mattresses.
