Abstract
425,152. Gas-masks. SENFT, A., 2, Bohmestrasse, Leipsic, Germany. July 16, 1934, No. 20774. Convention date, July 22, 1933. [Class 81 (ii)] Gas - masks are made to fit the forehead and cheeks gastightly by the provision along their edges a of straps such as d, centrally joined to the masks at the forehead and chin and having interposed packing members. The inner surfaces of which conform to the shape of the face whereas the outer surfaces form a regular curve. The packing members may comprise single pads b of sponge rubber or felt or series of roundedtopped trapezoidal bosses c for example of wood, and may be secured to the mask or to the straps. Alternatively the packing members may be formed by series of studs carrying U-shaped springy strips or the bosses c may be in two parts with interposed springs. The straps d are positioned by loops e. In a modification the straps terminate at the upper corners of the mask and are there joined to separate head straps.
