Abstract
389,459. Rectifying alternating currents. DUBILIER CONDENSER CO. (1925), Ltd., Victoria Road, North Acton, London.-(Assignees of Linke, J. ; 65, Niebuhrstrasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin.) June 5, 1931, No. 16459. Convention date, June 7, 1930. [Class 38 (ii).] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes an arrangement (Fig. 6, Cancelled) for rectifying 3-phase currents for supplying a motor comprising a transformer 15 the secondaries 16 of which feed main anodes 17 of a vapour valve. Auxiliary anodes 20 are connected through current-limiting resistances 7 and further windings on the transformer to a switch 3, closure of which causes an increased voltage to be impressed at 20 on the valve. The current is so limited by 7 that the discharge which has been transferred from 17 to 20 is inadequate to keep the motor running. In a modification (Fig. 7, not shown), the main anodes are connected to intermediate points of the transformer secondary, the end points of which are connected to a Y-connected resistance, the neutral of which is connected to a single auxiliary anode. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
