Abstract

387,827. Curtain valances. KERSHAW (MACHINE-MADE BRASSFOUNDERS), Ltd. and BURGESS, E. C., Highgate Works, Birmingham. Jan. 20, 1932, No. 1710. [Class 52 (v).] The valance used with curtain supports comprises a strip of thin metal 3 which can be bent to fit bow or angle windows, but is substantially rigid vertically when mounted in position. The valance is formed with a beading 4 along one or both longitudinal edges and on the reverse side with a continuous or discontinuous dovetailed flange 5 adapted for engagement by the supporting brackets 8. The other end of the brackets 8 may be secured by screws 14 and plates 13 to the upper edge of the rail 9 from which the curtains are suspended by rollers, the rails 9 being secured to the frame of the window by brackets 17.
