387,758. Closures for collapsable tubes &c. LIPSHITZ, G., 101, West 42nd Street, New York, U.S.A. Oct. 2, 1931, No. 27442. Convention date, Jan. 6. [Class 125 (iii).] A manually operable valved outlet for a collapsable tube &c. with a hollow cap 15 and a discharge orifice 16<1>, includes a device 13, having a non-round aperture 30 in which travels a spiral screw 29 fixed axially of the valve body 23, the interior wall of the cap carrying slots 32 in which slide wings 33 attached to the valve body 23. The cap 15 is held from axial movement by two flanges 17, 19 engaged by a flange 12 on the neck of the container, a packing washer 18 being interposed. On manual rotation of the cap 15, the valve 23 will thus be moved by the spiral 29 to open or close the orifice 16<1>. In a modification the cap may carry an elongated spout from which the contents may be used in drop form instead of ribbon form.
