Abstract

387,554. Buckle fastenings. HAWIE, M., 729, North Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut, U.S.A. May 3, 1932, No. 12724. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1931. [Class 43.] A buckle adapted for suspender webbing comprises a frame 10 having a slot 11 for passage of the main part of the webbing and a pivoted lever which comprises a handengaging portion 19 and a rear web-engaging portion 20. The latter has a straight edge 21 and is formed with a rearwardly extending lug or lugs 22, the lower edges whereof are in the same plane as the edge 21. A single lug may be provided centrally in the portion 20. The lever and lug may be stamped out of sheet metal and attached to a bar 12 by curled portions 18. The edge of the slot 11 is straight. The returned end of the webbing may be attached to the buckle by stamped-out tongues 14. The frame 10 is reinforced by ears 16 turned at right-angles thereto.
