387,208. Thermal switches ; switches partly electromagnetic. ELLIOTT, A. D., Marryott House, Woodbridge, Suffolk. May 30, 1932, No. 15338. [Class 38 (v).] In a thermostatically-controlled switch for use in connection with a heating system for internalcombustion engines on vehicles, fixed contacts D<2> co-operate with movable contacts D<4> carried at the free end of a soft-iron armature D<5> movable between the poles of and articulated on a bracket D7 secured to a magnet E. The contacts are operated to obtain a snap-over action against the action of the magnet by a deformable fluid-filled capsule F adjustably mounted on a baseplate D<1> through the intermediary of a plate spring F<5>. The capsule carries a bolt F<1> passing loosely through the armature D<5> and provided with bearing-nuts F<2>.
