387,158. Crushing macerated barkcontaining fibres in preparation for spinning. TEBYRICA, I. W., 1330, Caixa Postal, S. Paulo, Brazil. March 11, 1932, No. 7329. Convention date, Dec. 16, 1931. [Class 120 (i).] In a machine for treating macerated fibrous materials wherein the materials are crushed on a circular runway by plain or fluted rollers, the fibres are supported on a wooden platform 22 and the rollers 10, 11 are carried on arms 9, 9a supported by ties 8 and are rotated by a vertical shaft 3 supported in bearings 2, 4 and driven at its upper end by gearing 14, 15. The roller 10 is smooth while the surface of the roller 11 is grooved. The sleeve 12 is slidable on the shaft 3 to allow the rollers 10, 11 to accommodate themselves to varying depths of material on the platform 22. The tank 18 is formed with an annular canal 20 having outlets 21 through which water is supplied to the material, the waste being discharged through holes 24 and pipes 25, 25a.
