Abstract

387,086. Casting composite articles. BAILEY, A. W., Thapex Works, Aldridge Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham. Dec. 17, 1931, Nos. 34943/31 and 1591/32. [Class 83 (i).] The metal of cast spokes at the end next the rim encloses, or is enclosed by, external projections or sockets welded to the rim. The figures show sockets a and projecting pieces d, e of suitable forms. A reinforcing wire k may traverse the length of a spoke, being attached to a wire projection m at one end, Fig. 7, and to a wire ring in the hub at the other end. The union may be consolidated by squeezing the inter-engaging parts together.
