[Class 144 (i)] A hub for a wire-spoked wheel comprises a main barrel-portion 1 formed of light alloy, the flange-portions to which the spokes are actually secured consisting of steel or like harder metal rings 9 shrunk on to the end portions of the barrel. As shown, the rings 9 and shallow flange portions 3 of the barrel are formed with registering slots having chamfered ends to receive the heads of the spokes.
