Abstract
386,737. Non-metallic springs. DEWEY, H., 89, Tetley Road, Hall Green, Birmingham. Oct. 30, 1931, No. 30074. [Class 108 (iii).] Tensioning means for projection screens comprises non-metallic elastic members having hooks or like means for attaching them to the screen and to the screen support. They may consist of endless rubber bands of round, square, or other section, provided with one or more wire hooks, or of lengths of rubber cord having hooks at each end. Fig. 4 shows a hook 14 having a head 16 inserted in a rubber cord 13 and secured by binding wire 17. In a modification, Fig. 5, a hook 18 is held by a loop or tongue 22 formed in a cap 19 which is pressed inwards as at 21 to engage the rubber cord 20. In a further modification, the hook is attached to the cap by means of a partly spherical head held in a cup of similar form provided in the cap. The rubber cord may be of round, square, or other section, and may be strengthened with fabric &c, Specifications 205,255 and 332,882, [both in Class 97 (i), Optical systems &c.], are referred to.
