Adjacent the lower end of the leg 14 I provide thereon a clasp member 25. As shown the clasp 25 includes a metal body portion 26 having a covering of cloth 2'7 thereon. The body of the clasp includes a tongue portion 28 which is formed 1 around the leg wire 16 and by means of which the clasp 25 pivots-on the axisjof the leg wire 16. The clasp body'26 further includes a pair of spaced semi-circular finger members 29 which are adapted to releasably engage the leg wire 17. Instead of pinning a hat to the material of the support portion15, I preferto employ cords or tapes 34 secured-to the base 13 by wrapping them therearound and sewing them to the material 28 of the baseifsee Fig. 2). Fromthe foregoing description it will be apparent that I have provided a novel hat stand, which is simple in construction and highly efficient in use.

Having thus described my invention, I claim:

1. A hat stand, said hat stand including an annular base portion made of wire and-including base, the axis of said base and said hatrest being spaced ends, a hat rest portion, means. to secure said hat rest portion to said ends, said means including a pair of spaced legs joined at one end to the spaced ends of said base and a clasp member mounted on one of said legwirs and adapted to releasably engage the other of said leg wires.

pair of spaced loops, ahat stand, said hat stand including an annular 'expandingbase, a hat rest- I hat rest portion including spaced ends and a leg member, said leg member being formed of a pair of spaced wires joined at one end to the spaced ends of said base and at the opposite ends to said spaced ends of said hat rest portion.

A hat stand, said hat stand including an annular base portion made of wire and including spaced ends, a hat rest portion, said hat rest portion being spaced from saidbase and bein annularand of less diameter than said base, the axis of said base and said hat rest. being approximately in alignment, said hat rest portion including spaced ends, a leg member, said leg member being formed of a pair of spaced wires joined at one end to the spaced ends of said base and at the opposite ends to said spaced ends of said hat rest portion, said leg wires havinginwardly bent portions intermediate their lengths, a distance equal to the diiference'in the-diameters of said base and said hat rest portion.

In combination witha support including a bottom portion, a pair of spaced fabric strips on said bottom portion, the ends'of said strips being secured to said bottom portion with their intermediate portions free, a hat stand, said hat stand including an annular base portion made of wire and including spaced ends and a leg member, said leg member being formed of a pair 0! spaced wires joined at one end to the spaced ends of said base. and at the opposite ends to said spaced ends of said hat rest portion, said base being positioned beneath to expand and tightly engage said strips. a

A hat stand, said hat stand including an annular base portion made of wire and including spaced ends, a hat rest portion, said hat rest portion being spaced from said baseand being annular in shape and of less diameter than said base, said hat rest portion including spaced ends, a leg member, said leg member being formed of a pair of spaced wires joined at one end to the spaced ends of said base and at the opposite ends to said spaced ends of said hat rest portion, said leg wires having inwardly bent portions intermediate their lengths and a clasp member, said clasp member being pivotally mounted on one of leg wires and including members adapted toreleasably engage the other of said leg wires.

A hat stand, said hat stand including an annular base portion made of wire and including spaced ends, a hat rest portion, said hat rest portion being spaced from said base and being annular in ,shopeand of less diameter than said approximately in alignment, said hat rest portion including spaced ends, a leg member, said leg member being formed of a pair of spaced wires joined atone end. to the spaced ends of said base andatthe opposite ends to said spaced endsot' said hat rest portion, said leg wires having inwardly bent portions intermediate .their'length's. said base portion, said hat rest portion and said leg wire. havingafabric covering. thereon, an ornament member, said ornament member being secured to, mid hat rest portion. adjacent each side of said spaced ends to restrict movement of said base ends. away from each other; y
