Abstract

386,105. Tipping vehicles. WOODHEAD, R., 3, Brixton Road, London. Dec. 14, 1931, No. 34561. [Class 108 (i).] In a gear-wheel pump for operating a motor road vehicle tipping mechanism by oil pressure, a non-return ball valve 10 supports the tipped wagon by means of an oil cushion in the delivery chamber 8. A plug valve 9 cuts off a byepass between the suction and delivery chambers 6, 7, under the above conditions when the pump is stopped, but is turned into the position 9a when the wagon is to be lowered. Holes 14 allow oil from the chamber 8 to press the ball on to its seating.
