Abstract

386,081. Grid resistances ; couplings. ELECTRO-MECHANICAL BRAKE CO., Ltd. and CADBURY, G. N., Eagle Works; West Bromwich. Nov. 17, 1931, No. 31830. [Classes 37 and 38 (i).] A metal strip is bent to form a number of straight parallel portions a perforated to take insulated cross-bars b by which the resistance is supported in a frame. The straight portions are flanged, corrugated, or beaded to increase the rigidity, or the strip may be so formed over its whole length, the edges being notched where required to enable the return bends to be made. Some or all of the folded ends are perforated with holes i, to take tapping terminals, each of which comprises a T-headed bolt d, the head e of which is inside the bend, and saddles f, which are clamped by nuts h to grip the bend of the strip. The terminal g is secured between the saddle and the nuts h.
