Abstract
385,086. Hydraulic transmission of power. SINCLAIR, H., Ceylon Works, Worton Road, Isleworth, Middlesex. Nov. 24, 1931, No. 32597. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1930. [Class 69 (ii).] Hydraulic couplings are provided with means for automatically varying the liquid content in accordance with working conditions, the means including a rotary or stationary reservoir and one or more liquid transfer ducts. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a reservoir 12 carried by the driven member communicates by tubes 11 with tangential scoop ends 10 with the interior of the core member 7. In a modification, passages 52, 51, 55, Fig. 4, are supplied from the hydraulic circuit for lubricating bearing surfaces, and the reservoir is formed in part by a driven pulley 44, or gear wheel. The reservoir 12 may be carried by the driving member, as shown in Fig. 2, and connected with the interior of the core member by conduits 32, 27, tubes 11, and passages 29, 30, 31. A modification of the core is shown in Fig. 7, and another form has a stationary reservoir 12<1>, Fig. 8. Vent pipes 21 are provided in all forms. Specification 378,726 is referred to.
