Abstract

384,535. Washing gases. ATELIERS J. HANREZ SOC. ANON., Monceau-sur- Sambre, and MODAVE, A., 994, ChaussÚe de Ninove, Brussels, both in Belgium. April 20, 1932, No. 11308. Convention date, March 17. [Class 55 (ii).] Washers for cleansing and purifying gases are provided with rows of vertical elements 2, such as those described in Specification 380,746, which are moistened with liquid from a tank 1 by means of nipples 4 or axial guiding members. The nipples enter centring members 6 screwed in the base of the tank and provided with caps 9 having openings to pass liquid. The base 14 of each element is fitted with a lug 15 which is bolted to a girder 17 ; the basepiece may be octagonal in shape to enable the element to be turned successively through angles of 45‹. A sleeve 18 surrounds each nipple to shelter the liquid feed from the gas flow.
