[Class 56.] Rolling.-Apparatus for making sheet glass continuously comprises a tank furnace 1 with an horizontal slot 10 formed at one end through which the molten glass flows into the pan between a pair of sheet-forming rollers 11, 12. The slot is arranged at a level which is below the surface of the glass in the tank, so that a thick layer of molten glass above the slot ensures a more uniform temperature in the glass flowing through the slot. The rollers 11, 12 are arranged close to the slot, but a space is left in which the issuing glass can accumulate and form. a reserve 24. The width and thickness of the slot are adjustable.
