Abstract
365,700. Making wired glass. CHANCE BROS. & CO., Ltd., Glass Works, West Smethwick, Staffordshire, and FORSTER, A. L., Glasgow Glass Works, Firhill, Glasgow. Nov. 17, 1930, No. 34530. [Class 56.] Rolling.-Apparatus for making wired glass comprises a pair of sheet-forming rolls a, b, of which the lower roll forms one side of a pool or mass of molten glass c and has its upper surface at the same level as that of the glass in the pool, and a guide which engages the wire mesh d with the glass immediately before the latter enters the pass between the rolls a, b. The guide may consist of a pair of rollers e, f situated above the pool, and the position of the guide is made adjustable relatively to the rolls a, b so that either the tension on the wire or its inclination as it enters the glass can be adjusted.
