Abstract

<PICT:0384133/IV/1> <PICT:0384133/IV/2> A vat for the spinning or liquid treatment of artificial silk comprises a vat a in which is arranged a second vat b for accommodating the bath for the subsequent treatment. In one form, the vat b provided with a double wall i for the purpose of maintaining a suitable temperature, and carrying the thread-guides k, is placed within the larger vat a which contains also the spinning nozzles h. The wall i preferably extends in a broken zig-zag line, and the vertical planes which contain the axes of the spinning nozzles and the thread guides are then inclined to the longitudinal walls of the vat a, as shown in Fig. 2. The vat b is supplied with liquid through the perforated pipe e. Where no spinning nozzles are provided, rollers, rods, or the like are arranged in their stead under which the threads pass on entering the outer bath.
