Abstract

An artificial stone or wood substitute consists of the following ingredients in about the proportions stated, viz.: calcined magnesite 112 lb., talc 2 lb., marble dust or similar filler 14 lb., straw, hay, or like vegetable fibre 38 lb., magnesium chloride solution 70 lb. A pigment, e.g. titanium white, may be added. Articles made of the composition may be coated during drying with tung oil to which a siccative agent may be added.
