Abstract

383,201. Galvanic batteries. CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO., Ltd., Clifton Junction, near Manchester.-(Creitz, W. H.; Philadelphia, U.S.A.) May 14, 1932, No. 13922. [Class 53.] Accumulators are prepared for storage by treating the unformed plates with sulphuric acid, removing the acid and sealing the plates in the container without washing or drying. In carrying out the process the unformed plates are assembled in the container together with wet wood separators and the cover sealed in place. The container is then filled with acid and emptied after some hours. The vent holes may then be sealed in an airtight manner. In a modification of the process the plates and separators are immersed in sulphuric acid before being placed in the containers. They are then placed in the containers without washing or drying and the containers are then sealed.
