Abstract

383,114. Removing wheels from shafts. THOMSEN, A. C., 9, Kannikegade Hillerod, Denmark. Jan. 27, 1932, No. 2500. Convention date, July 22, 1931. [Class 61 (iii).] A differential screw device for withdrawing wheel hubs from shafts comprises a sleeve 3 split, coned and threaded at the end for clamping by means of a ring 4 on the threaded hub end 23, inside of which sleeve 3 works a tubular stem 1 threaded inside and outside and with a quicker pitch thread on the outside, the inside thread engaging a threaded spindle 18 with head 19 adapted to engage the end 24 of the taper shaft. In operation the end of sleeve 3 is clamped to the hub and the tubutar stem 1 is rotated by means of its head 5, a pin 20 on head 19 engaging slots 22 in the sleeve to prevent the spindle 18 from rotating.
