[Class 3 (i).] An illuminated sign in which the light from a gasheated mantle 16 is directed through a translucent signplate 15 by a reflector 17, is provided with a flickerproducing device comprising non-vertical luminous gas jets 9 arranged near the front of the casing 14 and agitated by air currents entering through holes 10. Additional flickerproducing vanes 12, 12<1> may be disposed above the mantle 16 and the jets 9.
