Abstract

382,016. Jacking attachments on vehicles. CRAVEN, E. S., 358, Horbury Road, Wakefield, Yorkshire. Aug. 26, 1931, No. 23965. [Class 79 (iii).] A lifting-jack is adapted to be temporarily positioned on a vehicle by the provision of a pin 5 on the lifting-head 11 insertible longitudinally into a slot 4 in the frame or undercarriage or in a bracket 1 secured to an axle 2 &c. The jack may be of the double-toggle type, comprising pairs of links 10, 7 connected, at their outer ends, to the head 11 and foot 6 respectively and, at their inner ends, to a sleeve 9 between collars on a plain part of a shaft 13 and a nut 8 working on a threaded part 12. A detachable handle 16 may be secured to the shaft by an overlap joint-andpin connection 15 retained in engagement by a slidable sleeve 14. A plurality of slots, arranged vertically, may be provided.
