Abstract

381,061. Gasholders. GRASSHOFF, E., 1, Sulzaerstrasse, Schmargendorf, Berlin. Feb. 9, 1932, No. 3848. [Class 54.] In order to allow access to be had through a working chamber 6 to the packing members of the discs of dry gasholders, the space below the disc 4 is sealed when the disc is in its lowest position either (1) by a friction - tight sealing member 3 arranged between an upstanding ring 2 secured to the foundation 1 and the disc 4 or a downwardly extending ring 5 on the disc 4, or (2) by pressure-tight yieldable sealing members 7, 8 provided on the ring 5 and the foundation 1 or on either the ring 5 or the foundation 1. If desired both the frictiontight and the pressure-tight sealing members may be provided. The sealing member 3 may either be mounted on the ring 2 and engage with the ring 5 or vice versa. The ring 5 may be double-walled to provide a receptacle for loading weights.
