Abstract

534,585. Ammunition receptacles. ABBOTT, S. C., and FLETCHER, A. G. March 16, 1940, No. 4942. [Class 9 (i)] A container for a projectile fuze h comprises a casing a with its open end b adapted to receive a closure c of the kind described in Specifications 23843/12 and 105,547, [both in Class 18], and a pair of distance-pieces d, e fitted with projecting rubber gaskets f, j respectively to engage the flange g and coned head k of the fuze. The lower end of the piece d may be fitted with a rubber gasket m to seat on a disc or ring n of cardboard, cork, rubber &c. at the base of the casing. A tubular housing q for the gaine p is shown fr:ctionally secured in the piece d by radial fins r. The closure c which is secured by a split band t, is fitted with a rubber &c. pad o to ensure a tight seal against the upper end of the piece e.
