[Class 12 (iii)] A wheel 4 rotating on a fixed axle 1 has a cover 13 which forms an oil container ; the cover is fitted to the wheel by a bayonet joint, the rib 17 pressing the cover against a cork ring 11. A ribbed plate 22 is carried by the axle, and conducts oil to radial passages 21 communicating with the bearing surfaces. A modified construction is shown in Fig. 5.
