[Class 46.] A device for expressing water from boiled cabbage and the like comprises a perforated cylinder a having a loose perforated bottom plate c. A plate provided with a handle and fitting the cylinder closely is forced down upon the material charged into the cylinder to express the water. The plate c is supported by a flanged ring b and can be lifted from below to discharge the treated solid material as a cake. The top of the cylinder is provided with a tapering mouth d.
