Abstract
380,441. Drop-down guns. DELU, F., 12, Rue Cesar Franck, Liege, Belgium.- (Assignee of Delu, E.; Novara, Italy.) June 9, 1931, No. 16791. Convention date, Feb. 27. [Class 119.] Double-barrel drop-down sporting guns of the kind in which each sear 2, Fig. 1, and its associated trigger 3 are movable together as a single member have the sear members displaced laterally with respect to the trigger members so that the sears are in the planes of their associated tumblers 4 whilst the triggers lie substantially in the middle plane of the gun. The sear 2 is secured to its trigger 3 by a screw 3a, Fig. 2, or these two parts are made in a single piece. The invention is shown applied to a gun in which the tumbler is cocked against the action of a spring 5c when the gun is opened. The spring bears against a member 5 formed with projections 5d, 5b on opposite sides of the tumbler pivot 4a. The member 5 is connected to the tumbler by spring-controlled links 5g which move the tumbler into engagement with the sear 2. When the sear is released the member 5 presses with its projection 5b on the tumbler and fires the gun, the inertia of the tumbler causing it to move against the projection 5d and rebound within the action body. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes (1) modifications of the cocking and rebound mechanism, in which a cocking lever 8, Fig. 7 (Cancelled), acts directly on the tumbler to cock it against the action of a V-spring 5c which also acts to cause the tumbler to rebound ; (2) safety mechanism combined with the looking-bolt 9 ; (3) a spring button 15c, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), permitting ready withdrawal of the top-lever axis pin 14 ; and (4) a form of action body and means for attaching it to the stock by a longitudinal screwed rod 13a. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
