378,268. Safety razors. DUPEY RON, A., 24, Rue du Capitaine Ferber, Paris Oct. 27, 1931, No. 29818. Convention date Jan. 14. [Class 30.] In a safety razor having a hollow handle 11 which houses spare wrapped blades 14 and also the complete shaving head when not in use, there being a partition 13 between the blades and the head, the double-edged blade 3 is rendered flexible by elongated apertures 7 and is clamped between the transversely-curved surfaces of a toothed guard 4 and a clamping-plate 1, the latter being of triangular cross section. The clamping-plate presents a flat surface to the skin which rubs the skin and softens the pores after the cutting action and it also has at its ends downwardly-extending rough-surfaced projections 2 which embrace the rounded ends of the blade and guard. The clamping-plate carries blade-locating projections 5 and has a slight longitudinal curvature, its ends being below its centre so as to clamp the blade more tightly. For the same purpose, the guard is reinforced by an elongated boss 10 around its clamping screw aperture, and if desired by further bosses along its length. The handle is closed by a stopper 12.
