Abstract

377,924. Tables. DAVIS, W. S., 3, Euston Square, London. No. 8806. March 24, 1932. [Class 52 (iii). A table with a hinged top movable into a position for use as a fire-screen is mounted so as to be vertically adjustable in order to enable the table to be used as a tea table or as a card &c. table. The Figure shows a table with a top 12 in a vertical position. It is mounted on a stand 1, in which is slidably fitted, by means of tongue and groove joints 3, an inner frame 5, the height of which can be adjusted by spring-pressed rods 8 retractable by handle 10. On this frame 5 the table top 12 is mounted by means of blocks 11. The frame 5 and the blocks 11 are connected by pivot pins 13, and the table is kept either in a vertical or a horizontal position by spring-pressed pins with knobs 14. On the underside of the table is a box 15, with a lid 16, for cards &c.
