Abstract
377,710. Aeronautical navigation lamps. BARKER, G. G., 59, Chancery Lane, London.-(Pioneer Instrument Co., Inc. ; 754, Lexington Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A.) April 27, 1931, No. 12415. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv).] In an aeronautical navigation lamp the stream-lined hollow lens or globe 10 is secured to the baseplate 12 by an arched resilient split loop 15 hinged to the plate at 13 and embracing the lens, the ends 16, 17 being spaced apart and crimped at 20 so that they may be crossed and engaged in slots in a bracket 14 pressed up from the baseplate opposite the hinge 13. The loop is arched as shown in Fig. 5 to press the lens against the baseplate, and takes in a groove 21 adjacent the flange 11 of the lens. A gasket 22 is interposed between the lens and the baseplate. Flanges 28 on the baseplate contact with the flange 11 of the lens. The lamp bulb 26 is mounted in a holder 24 on a bracket 23 secured to the baseplate.
