Abstract
377,010. Mixing, grinding, &c. machines. EIRICH, L. and EIRICH, J., (trading as EIRICH, GEB.), Hardheim, Baden, Germany. Sept. 18, 1931, No. 26199. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1930. [Classes 59 and 86.] A machine for mixing, kneading, grinding, and sifting comprises a rotary pan at the centre of which is a sieve, the materials being mixed &c. by one or more mixers, and one or more edge runners, rotating oppositely to, and eccentrically of, the pan in paths either confined to the imperforate portions, or including both sieve and imperforate portions, of the pan. Fig. 1 shows a form in which the edge runner d and mixing blades c rotate about a shaft e eccentric to the pan f, and cover both the sieve f<1> and the imperforate portion of the pan a. In Fig. 3 two edge runners II and two mixers I are provided, both overlapping part of the sieve, over which is fixed a scraper i. In another form a pair of edge-running wheels and scrapers are mounted on the same shaft, the edge runners working only on the imperforate portion of the pan, while in a further form two edge-running shafts and a mixer shaft are spaced at 120‹ to each other. Fig. 6 shows a sifting arrangement in which a table n is mounted on a sleeve m vertically adjustable by means of a bell crank o and screw o<1>, a strickle n<1> resting on the table and being rotated by engagement with an abutment n<2> on the pan. Above the strickle n<1> is another strickle l held in engagement with the sieve f<1> by means of a weight, and the pan is provided with a depending flange n<3> between which and the table n is a variable clearance n<4> through which the material is discharged. The sieve f<1>, or an imperforate plate substituted therefor, may be fixed to the rod m<1> and be removable therewith by rocking round the pivot k. The edge runners are pivoted on arms g, the downward motion of which may be controlled by the means shown in Fig. 8. The arms g rest on abutments s<1> adjustably carried on a cross-piece s mounted on a screw spindle p adjusted by a hand-wheel t and passing through a hollow shaft r driving the edge runner.
