376,974. Generating combustion products under pressure. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Aug. 5, 1931, No. 22168. Convention date, Sept. 1, 1930. [Class 51 (i).] A high pressure combustion chamber for gas turbines, steam generators or the like cooled by a cooling medium under a higher pressure has' the wall formed of closely spaced tubes carrying the cooling medium and welded together directly or by joints including a relatively longitudinally disposed round or profile wire 1, 2 as shown in Figs. 1 and 3. The wall may be formed of a helical tube or by tubes extending parallel to the axis of the chamber. As shown in Fig. 4, tension bolts 3 resist the forces acting on the bottom and cover of the combustion chamber. The tubes may be oval, rectangular or trapezoidal in cross section. Where the tubes are oval in section the ends of the tubes which enter the flanges at the top and bottom of the combustion chamber are cylindrical in shape.
