Abstract
376,866. Brackets. LIPMAN, R., 64, Avenue des Vosges, Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin, France. April 29, 1931, No. 12644. Convention date, May 1, 1930. [Class 52 (v).] In shelving of the kind wherein the supporting brackets are adjustable in vertical standards each bracket 11 is formed with an edge 11a bent through 90‹ to form a heel which engages in a rectangular conduit 5 of the standard, and also with a finger 14 to engage with one of a series of notches 10 or perforations in the front wall of the conduit, so that the horizontal position of the shelf is determined by the abutment of the upper and lower extremities of the heel on the front and opposite walls respectively of the conduit, and the weight of the bracket is borne by the finger 14. In assembling, the bent edge 11a is inserted in the slit 9 in the standard and the bracket pivoted until the finger 14 may be inserted in one of the notches 10. The finger 14 may be somewhat distorted so that it is necessary slightly to lift the bracket before disengaging it. The lower edge of the bracket is bent to form a trough 15 for reception of the bent end of the shelf 16 (Fig. 2). The shelf has also bent edges 16b whereby lateral movement is prevented.
