Abstract
442,782. Cabinets. WINSTON, G., 3, Union Place, Curtain Road, London. Sept. 1, 1934, Nos. 25223 /34 and 2087/35. [Class 52 (i)] A cabinet comprises two doors, each fitted with a shelf or shelves connected to a sliding bottom or tray so that the doors and the trays move simultaneously The doors 2 close against the front of the case 1, flaps 4 and L-shaped upper and lower shelves 5 move back with them into it, and a sliding tray 7 beneath the lower edges of the doors 2 is moved back by pin-and-slot devices 9, 10. Equivalent devices for this purpose comprise rollers moving in slots 9 of various forms, and link mechanisms. The lower edges of the doors are fitted with L-shaped brackets 11 which support the front edge of the tray 7 when drawn out. In modifications, the doors 2 are in the form of shallow trays, or are L-section form with approximately rectangular shelves 5 ; the trays 7 are supported slidably on edge strips sliding on the walls 1 ; there is, above the doors, a lid lifted by linkwork connected to the sliding tray; the doors may cover the front edge of the tray 7.
