Cabinets. - A cabinet for holding index cards is built up of a number of separate sections each of which is divided into two or three portions by channel shaped members 18, in which slide shallow drawers 15 containing the index cards. The members 18 are arranged one above the other, and are secured together to form a section by a strip 21, which also encloses spacing members 22 - - 25, Fig. 3. The spacing members 24, 25 are bent to form pieces 26, 27 at the rear of the cabinet to cover the channel members. The front spacing member 22 is bent to form a piece 28 which acts as a drawer stop. The member 23 is cut short at its forward end to allow room for removable stops 28, 30. Angle pieces 32, 33 are provided to reinforce the plates 24, 25. The sections are secured together by bracing members 34, 35, which have angular extensions 36, by which the cabinet may be secured to the under surface of a table &c. The drawers 15, carrying index cards 61 in overlapping horizontal position on retaining strips 60, are proportioned to pass between the bent over edges 28, 31 of the stops 28, 30, but are prevented from being completely withdrawn by protruding catches 41, 42, which also act as guides. The drawer 15 comprises a base portion 47, which has upwardly and inwardly bent side portions 48, 49, 50, 51 enclosing a stiffening strip 52 and supports flanged divisional cards retaining members 62. The rear end of the base is bent upwardly and the front end provided with a separate angular front 54, 55, Fig. 9, which supports a card retaining slip 64, and an index holder 17 adapted to contain an index card in an upwardly inclined position.
